Our \u2018In Broad Strokes\u2019 event is the perfect moment to discover the broad strokes. Each time, we break down an art movement. With introductions by experts and performances by local artists from various disciplines, we gather all the facts you need in one evening to show off your cultural knowledge.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first edition of this event, we take a dive into absurdism. It may be April 1st, but we\u2019re not kidding when we say you\u2019ll want to be there! Expect dance, music, paintings, and more during the packed program. To make the evening complete, we have invited two speakers. Dr. Daan Evers will offer a philosophical perspective, and Hossein Tavazoni-Zadeh will tell us more about theatre of the absurd.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Speakers<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Daan Evers &#8211;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy who\u2019ll tell us more about the absurd from that perspective. Specifically about Thomas Nagels and Albert Camus and their ideas of the absurd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hossein Tavazoni-Zadeh&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PhD Student at the RUG, arts culture and Media, and theatremaker who will introduce us to the theatre of the absurd.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>In the gallery<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Emilia Paul &#8211; <\/strong>&#8220;The One or The Other&#8221; &#8211; Photography focused on a feeling inseparable from the moment experienced. Part of a larger collection<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sofia Tsouchnika &#8211; <\/strong>Multimedia artist, recording past experiences, dreams and stories and showing them through different materials<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rean Luimstra &#8211; <\/strong>Physical art that holds up a mirror &#8211; both for the viewer and for the artist &#8211; as a way to reflect, understand, and grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>On stage<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Creature\u2019s Guide to Human Fashion<\/strong> &#8211; A short semi-improvisational theatrical performance by RyoWulf<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Love is the warmest color<\/strong> &#8211; A dance performance by Marein Sietske with light design by CREATE by Ri<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>YouYouri &#8211; <\/strong>Theatrically absurd dancepop that balances between chaos and personal stories. Together with DJ Broek, YouYouri shows that we are so much more beautiful together than alone, and that life doesn\u2019t always have to make sense<br><strong>Stefanos Vavakos<\/strong> &#8211; Poetry that dives into the space of the search of meaning and the chaos of finding purpose, while ending the poems with a sense of harmony and cohesion of humans with that lack of concrete evidence of meaning, thus making the most out of it.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you want to know more about the art world, but don&#8217;t know where to start?
