As You Like It is a play about love, gender, and shenanigans. It’s a classic Shakespeare comedy that has definitely stood the test of time and is just as, if not more, hilarious these days.
Rosalind is exiled by the mother of her best friend, Celia, who comes with her to the Forest of Arden. Orlando, exiled by his vengeful sibling and madly in love with Rosalind, ends up putting his poetry skills to the test on the trees to cope with his malady. Turns out they’re not the only ones in this Forest — the Old Duke, Rosalind’s father, is also here. But Rosalind’s disguise is so effective, neither her father nor her love recognise her. Shenanigans ensue, including some genderbending fake dating, a battle of the fools, Mr. Depression, and a lot of romance. No really, a lot. Is four weddings enough for you?
When? Thursday 12 June, Friday 13 June & Saturday 14 June at 20.30.
Estimated runtime is 3 hours including intermission. The play will be in English.
