PROGRAMME
21:00 Astronaut
Astronaut is the musical project of songwriter, daydreamer and amateur philosopher Pelle Bast. Astronaut's songs are uncompromising and seek naivety in its best form. With humor and lightness, grand themes such as sex, love and the cosmos are sung, questioned and mocked. The Dutch lyrics bear witness to philosophical depth, brought with Achterhoekse sobriety.
Live, you never know what is going to happen because there is no script. But if Pelle brings along his band, you are assured of contrasts between fragile moments versus energetic drums and trumpet as an earcatcher to blow your summer away!
22:15 Le Motat
LE MOTAT is the energetic project of Tato Wesselo, the new pride of Rotterdam. Tato is part of a new movement that combines electronic beats and strange, half poetic lyrics to create songs you can listen to both while working and while going out. They broach everyday topics that are elevated to something bigger, often about Going to Hell, for example.
The music feels optimistic, upbeat and very danceable. The performances are delivered with so much enthusiasm and conviction that Tato has already been called the Dutch Jack Black by the press, you don't want to miss this!
23:30 Ko Kliko
Fun, spirited and fiercely unapologetic: Ko Kliko’s distinct blend of sounds unites the punk DIY attitude with the excitement and innocent feel of pop music. A music nerd through and through, Ko digs deep for her gems, no matter the genre. Aiming for more than just a good time, her sets radiate with her passion for the social and the political. By amplifying queer and other marginalized voices, she empowers those seeking their retreat in the nightlife. As co-founder of Relate Radio and initiator of PAUW!, the renowned pop club night in VERA, Ko cultivates the alternative music scene from the ground on up. Behind the booth, Ko’s eclectic influences come together in an energetic mix that will rumble through your body.
P.S. You can buy a ticket for every separate event, or you can buy one ticket that includes all the events (including the gala).
