This is a course for all levels and for everybody who wants to learn to make a covincing and realistic portrait/human figure drawing.

In the 1st trimester the course will be focused on model and portrait drawing. We will look precisely at basic aspects to come to drawing a human figure. How is the body, in accurate perspective, built? How does it move and how do we draw not only a well put together doll but a living human being? What are the proportions within the human face? How do you learn to recognize the true shapes of eyes, nose or mouth, and how exactly is the head placed on the neck and shoulders? What happens next with all those forms when we look at the head in three quarters perspective, and from the side? In the 2nd trimester, the focus of the course will be on model and light/dark portrait study in various techniques. The 3rd trimester will be totally focussed on the theme portrait. You will discover the visual aspects that enable you to draw a well resembling portrait.

This course starts on Tuesday April 7th 2026 at 18.00 and will be 10 weeks in a row on the same day and time. The course will take place in the Atelier in Usva.
