Are you in need of a new, relaxing hobby? And have you also seen all those beautiful crochet works passing by on social media? Then this course is for you! Here you will learn the basics of crochet, so you will soon be able to make the most beautiful creations with yarn or wool yourself. Crochet is a very popular hobby and for good reason: it is super relaxing and you also produce dopamine while crocheting!
In this course you will learn step by step how to set up a crochet work, what the basic stitches are and you will get started right away with making your first project: a potholder or a scrunchie. And that’s just the beginning! Later in the course you will also learn how to make a granny square, with which you can then create, for example, a bag or a top.
To participate in this course you will need a few supplies:
- A crochet hook of 5mm
- A pair of scissors (preferably embroidery scissors, but regular scissors will work too)
- Cotton yarn suitable for a 5mm crochet hook (we recommend Ekos Katia or Drops Paris yarn)
- A darning needle
- Stitch markers or bobby pins (also works well as a stitch marker)
Please make sure that you read this file with the specifications for the supplies.
This course starts on Friday 16 January 2026 at 14.30 and will be 5 weeks in a row on the same day and time. The course will take place in the Green Room in Usva. This course is offered in English.
