Discover the world of color, form, and material during this versatile Drawing and Painting course.
We start the first few weeks by exploring atmospheric, ‘dry’ materials such as pastel crayons, charcoal, and pencil. Gradually, we move on to the ‘wet’ variants: painting with acrylic and oil paints, watercolors, and surprising mixed media.
During the lessons, many facets are covered, such as composition, tonality, and the use of color. We practice these through varied assignments, including sketching and painting objects, still lifes, and visual material.
Winny Hooijmaijers, an art therapist and graduate of the Classical Academy in Groningen, guides you with attention to each individual’s uniqueness and talent. Within a calm, relaxed atmosphere, you receive expert guidance with the necessary humor, where there is plenty of room to grow at your own pace and develop your style.
Whether you are holding a brush for the very first time or have been creatively active for years: every week offers an inspiring and creative experience at the easel.
This English course starts on Thursday September 17th 2026 at 19.30 and will be 10 weeks in a row on the same day and time. The course will take place in the Atelier in Usva.
