The follow-up course that has been requested so much! Learn everything about creating botanical illustrations and deepen your own style. A course that builds upon the basic course and is also suitable if you already have some experience in drawing and painting.
The follow-up course delves deeper into working with various drawing materials and combining techniques. It covers topics that were not addressed in the basic course. This course includes: the use of backgrounds in your illustration, how to use color to create specific effects, abstract and graphic work, and the use of collage techniques.
Through this, you develop even more possibilities to broaden your techniques and adopt a personal illustration style. You grow in your basic drawingskills and in developing your own unique style.
To follow this course successfully, it is helpful if you are already somewhat familiar with:
- Setting up sketches + have some experience drawing from reality
- Working with watercolors and colored pencils or crayons
- Have completed previous drawing/painting courses
For this course, you need some drawing experience, a healthy dose of curiosity, and your own creativity!
This course starts on Wednesday 16 September 2026 at 19.30 and will be 5 weeks in a row on the same day and time. The course will take place in the Green Room in Usva. This course is led by Rianne van der Kamp. An illustrator, forager and teacher with a love for making nature to come alive on paper.
