You’re expected to fight for a romantic relationship and family ties are considered unconditional. But friendships are allowed to fizzle out.
This would be considered unacceptable in almost any other kind of relationship. Why is this so different? Aren't friends your chosen family? Why is your romantic partner always the plus-one, and do people go to therapy for a relationship but rarely for a friendship? In short, why is friendship such an undervalued form of relationships?
In this short monologue, performed by seven different members of a friend group, A-Way Productions pays a tribute to friendship. Because friendship is like cleaning out your closet: sometimes you own beautiful things you no longer use, but no longer fit in your closet, right?
