In the Sketchbook Studio – Illustration & Mixed Techniques, you will spend five weeks working with your own sketchbook as a creative foundation. You will learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting and how to combine them with illustration using various styles and materials.
We will work with materials such as pencils, paint, watercolor crayons, and collage. You will learn how to observe, build up compositions, and work in layers, using different techniques in combination to add depth, texture, and character to your work. Step by step, you will discover how to construct and enhance images within your sketchbook.
The studio is suitable for both beginners and advanced students. There is plenty of room to learn, practice, and experiment. The focus is not on perfect drawing, but on developing your own visual language and having the confidence to make creative choices.
By the end of the five weeks, you will have a sketchbook filled with studies and illustrations that reflect your growth, experimentation, and personal style.
This course starts on Tuesday, October 20, at 10:00 AM and runs for five consecutive weeks, at the same time and on the same day. The course takes place in the Green Room at Usva.
