The poet in residence of the University of Groningen (UG) this year is Hannan van Rooij. Hannan writes poetry about student life, the city and everything in between.
Hannan van Rooij (24) is a stage poet living on the outskirts of Groningen. With a bag of studies in nursing, ethics, religion and culture under her arm, she now walks the streets trying to turn everyday things into poetry. She creates her own work, including as a district poet for Vinkhuizen and as a house poet for the University of Groningen, and is regularly asked for custom texts, summary poetry during events or other poetry or other artistic initiatives.

The poet in residence is making poetry visible within the University. Hannan regularly writes new poems. Next to that Hannan is involved in workshops at Usva, enabling students to explore language and creativity themselves.
