Have you always wondered how to take better photos, but don’t know where to start? Or do you already have some experience with photography and want to further develop your technical knowledge and creative vision? Then this course is for you.

In this course you will learn step by step how to take more conscious photos. Whether you are curious or want to get more out of your camera, you are very welcome. We will cover the most important basic settings such as shutter speed, aperture and ISO, but also topics such as the use of light, composition and choosing a strong subject are discussed extensively.

The course consists of an alternation of theory and practice. You will immediately put what you have learned into practice during photography assignments and photo walks through the city.

What can you expect?
– Practical lessons: approximately 50% theory and 50% practice
– Photo walks through the city to immediately practice what you have learned
– Introduction to portrait, product and event photography
– Introduction to image editing and visual storytelling
– Personal feedback on your work

No camera? No problem.
For the first lessons, you can simply use your smartphone. You will mainly learn to look, make choices and understand what light does. Do you not have a camera yet but would you like to practice with it later? Let us know when you register – there are a few loan models available.

Final assignment: your work on paper
The course ends with a creative assignment in which you take a photo independently. All submitted images are professionally printed in A5 format. This way, you go home with something tangible – a beautiful proof of your photographic growth.

What to bring: A camera or smartphone. Do you want to use a loan model? Please indicate this when registering.

This course is offered in English. This course starts on Tuesday 21 April 2026 at 19.30 and will be 10 weeks in a row on the same day and time. The course will take place in the Media Studio in Usva.
