So now you’re comfortable with the basics. You know about plotting, writing with your senses, and making characters come to life, but perhaps you’d like some more details to play with?
This follow up course on creative writing deals with: tropes, plot devices, symbolism, originality and imitation, pacing, writing backstory, names/titles, and more.
It revisits the basics in more depth or from different angles, but also spends time on identifying your writing process. There will be new exercises and we’ll discuss questions such as ‘how can I go about research?’, ‘how do I write a character who is very different from me?’ or, ‘how do I edit?’
It is recommended that you only sign up for this course if you have completed the basic creative writing course.
